How We Source

Rooted in the World We Want to See

How we choose to source reflects the world we want to live in: one rooted in seasonality, locality, and care. Every part of Nära Jorden, from the farms we collaborate with to the jars we pack by hand, follows a wish to stay close to nature’s rhythms. Small farms, thriving animals, real materials. Nothing synthetic, nothing rushed, and as little waste as possible. You can read more about our values and what grounds us here.

Cows in Sweden.jpg

Farmers in Uppland

Our ingredients begin here in Uppland, among open pastures where cows graze on real grass beneath wide skies. We work with small farms and people who know their animals by name, who walk the land in muddy boots, and who carry forward generations of knowledge. Their herds are raised on nature’s schedule, not industrial demand. Every batch is crafted with care, in tune with the seasons and the farmers’ way of working. It makes our blend rare, and deeply personal.

We take safety as seriously as sustainability

Each production batch undergoes independent laboratory testing before packaging, verifying that the product is microbiologically stable and safe for consumption.
Our testing program covers key parameters for food safety — so that every jar meets the same uncompromising standards as the land and animals it comes from.
CLAY.webp

Clay, Not Plastic

When you open your jar, you’ll find a small clay pouch inside. It’s there to protect your blend from humidity and preserve its purity. Please leave it in place (and definitely don’t eat it!). It’s a humble piece of natural clay, our reminder that even the smallest detail can be done with care. Unlike the synthetic packets used in most products, this one returns to the earth without harm.

Rooted in Our Local Community

We’re proud members of Fjärdhundraland, a network of local farms, food artisans, and small businesses in Uppland.

Being part of this community isn’t just about connection — we want to be fully integrated into the place we live, contributing positively to the region’s sustainability, resilience, and local food production.

By collaborating with nearby farmers and slaughterhouses, we help create a circular, transparent food system that honors the land, supports local livelihoods, and brings true nourishment back home.

The Jar

Each Ancestral Organ Blend comes in a violet glass jar, made entirely in Europe. Beyond its beauty, this jar has an ancient story. Cleopatra is said to have kept her precious oils in vessels of this very shade. The reason? Violet glass naturally filters sunlight, allowing only the gentle wavelengths that help preserve delicate natural products. It protects freshness, potency, and color so that what nature gives remains vibrant for longer.

Black Soil

Why It Matters

For us, sourcing isn’t about scaling up or cutting corners. It’s about staying true — to farmers, to nature, to the pace of real life, and to ourselves. Every jar carries a story of soil, season, and the people who make nourishment possible.
